Photojournal
What is this?
A photojournal is a way for users to provide a firsthand account of their experience with the challenge you’re researching through pictures or videos.
When should I use this?
Use this method to understand a person’s thoughts, actions, context, and people that surround them as they navigate a situation. Photojournals can also help prime a subject for an interview and provide lots of prompts for discussion.
More about this...
To put this method into action, you’d ask someone to take pictures (or short videos) of his/her context or journey when experiencing a certain part of the education system. You’d then use the photos as evidence, prompts for interviews, and inspiration for solutions. For instance, you can ask students to create a photojournal of their commute to and from school to understand how transportation works in a district.
