Idea Selection
What is this?
This resource provides three ways to choose a subset of ideas generated in a brainstorm to prototype.
When should I use this?
These methods for idea selection are best suited for a design workshop setting but can be applied any time you need to narrow down a broad set of ideas to a few to prototype.
More about this...
The human-centered design process includes moments of flaring, when the goal is to generate as many ideas as possible, and focusing, when the goal is to select and pursue the most promising ideas. Deciding among ideas can be an ambiguous process without a decision-making framework. This resource provides three such frameworks: Post-it voting, the four categories method, and the bingo method.
